Back once more

Well. Here it is, the 25th day of May and a lot has flowed down the river in the meantime. Jer had HIS gallbladder out in the 19th followed by a shoulder problem which is still undergoing therapy.
We located a great guy who has our home torn apart doing renovations to two bathrooms and the kitchen. You talk about poor planning? That's us. I am sure mother is looking down on us, wondering why this stuff wasn't done a long time ago....Probably laughing at some of our ideas also!
I guess we will be around for about another month..

Back again

Well. I managed to get back didn't I? Lorraine wound up in our local German hospital and had 6 gallstones removed and then 3 days later, the gallbladder along with 2 more stones which were about 3/4 the size of a golf ball. She is home now and recuperating vey well.
I have had quite a bit of trouble with this thing. Couldn't find my dashboard then I couldn't get into the site at all. Password did not work. I wonder if others have problems such as this also?
I guess we will not be "out and about" too much until Lor is up to it so, will get back here later. Ciao all.

Getting started

Hello to whoever is out there reading this. We are retired Americans who split their time between West Cornwall, Connecticut and Germany. Our aim is to keep people posted as to what we are up to over here and where we go. We hope to fairly faithful in our postings, although some may not be too over-exciting. I am Jerry and my wife is Lorraine. I am a retired Housing Manager and worked for the Department of Defense and my wife is a Massage Therapist and pet-sitter. Since coming to Germany for the first time in November of 1978, we have lived in Kaiserslautern, Augsburg, back to Roosie Roads, Puerto Rico, then to Livorno, Italy, up to Munich, back to Niagara Falls and then back to Kaiserslautern. I retired fromFederal government service in October after being the Director of Housing at Ramstein Air Base and also retired the following year from the Naval Reserve as an Chief Aviation Electronics Technician. During our stints over here, Lorraine had worked for Army Community Service as Chairperson for Women's Outreach and later, started a thriving pet sitting business. Right now we live in the village of Bruchmuehlbach which is about 20 minutes from Ramstein and maybe 45 minutes from the French border, the closest town of any size being Bitche. That, right now, is it in a nut shell. We shall return. J&L
